Review: British Airways Club Suite on the refurbished 777.
From May 1 a three-cabin Boeing 777 with 40 seats in Club World, 24 in World Traveller Plus and 216 in World Traveller will be put on the route from Gatwick to JFK. It will make BA the only airline to offer flights to New York from all three of London’s main airports; Gatwick, Heathrow and London City. Lynne Embleton, Managing Director at.
Anyone have experience of the refurbished 777 200 flying from Gatwick in club class.
BA 777 Cabin refurbishments from Gatwick? User Name: Remember Me? Password: Forgotten Password? Notices. Flying from LGW-MCO next month and looking at the info on BA's site for World Traveller HERE it mentions about halfway down the page: The World Traveller experience is getting a makeover. We're giving the cabin a stylish new interior, luxurious seats with greater recline, 35 per cent.
Branded as Club World for long haul and Club Europe for short haul services, British Airways was one of the pioneers of flat bed seats in long haul business class. The product is overdue an upgrade, with the seat layout on a Boeing 777 being 8-across in contrast to the more standard 4-across layout. British Airways Club Europe cabin uses a standard Economy class seat, with the middle of each 3.
BA Club World on a 777 is dire IMHO, having experienced it a few weeks ago. I will never do it again. I will never do it again. Try and get aisle seats if you can (although there is no privacy whatsoever) because that way you don't have to clamber over people's legs to get out.
British Airways is planning to drop first class from a portion of its 777 fleet. A BA presentation (PDF, p.86) notes that the conversion from four classes to three classes on the Heathrow 777-200ER fleet will result in 25% more seats over all. Also, the Gatwick 777-200 fleet will see some Club World seats removed to better suit the largely leisure markets operated from London’s second airport.
